Welcome to Tannahill Beagles and Wire Haired Dachshunds.
We are a small kennel in North Ayrshire Scotland actively involved in showing and producing quality puppies.
I was brought up with dogs and showed a Border Terrier as a child till she had a run in with a fox and lost half an ear which ended her show career.
In 1993 I was persuaded that a beagle was a necessary addition to our family and my love affair with this beautiful breed began. A reputable breeder was sought and Eleanor and Frank Bothwell of Norcis kennel approached for a puppy whereupon Norcis Teandore Lady was purchased ,she was quickly joined by Norcis Demi, Norcis Erasmouse and Fallowfield Darkness as any beagle owner comes to realise, one is just not enough. With lots of help and support from Eleanor and Frank we started breeding under the Tannahill affix – there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a litter of pups successfully reared.
Since then we have had moderate success in the show ring starting at open shows and progressing to Championship shows.
The Wire Haired Dachshunds joined the pack in 1998 and are owned and shown by daughter Anne who has won Best of Breed on several occasions at Championship Shows.
I started my judging career in 1997 and I have been approved to award Challenge Certificates in Beagles and judge most of the other Hound Breeds at Open Show level.
I am a member of The Kennel Club and currently serve on The Hound Association of Scotland.
